The French Maid costume can be worn by women of all ages, all races and all sizes. It can be conservative or quite revealing and altered with different accessories but one thing that remains the same is the vote on the proper shoes. It is almost always going to be the high heel. The French Maid costume represents a mystery of fetishism and fantasy. It is named after the French because the French woman has always been thought of as a sexual representation of all women.

High heels give an aesthetic illusion to your overall appearance. The raised feature of the foot allows your legs to look longer, more slender and a lot more toned, especially your calves. Walking in this position requires you to have a much more proper posture and you are forced to adjust your gait and this adjustment always leads to a more seductive stride. High heels make you appear taller and it's no secret that taller people "stand out" in the crowd. Your foot also appears smaller and your arch gets a beautiful defined look. Many men say that the arch of a woman's foot in a pair of heels is such a sexy part of the body.

There is a reason why the Woman's Liberation Movement of the 1970's rejected the high heels shoe so strongly. They argued that high heels make a woman look vulnerable and made men look at women as sex objects. They said that women felt they were required to wear high heels to have sex appeal. That being said, obviously the high heels have a strong symbolism to men and women.

The French Maid costume symbolizes a fantasy that is known across the world. The high heel shoe is such an important factor in adding that symbolic representation because it adds to the feminism, sexuality and appearance of the woman wearing the costume. You actually feel sexier when you wear a pair of high heels and when your self-esteem is high; it always shines through in every action you make and your personality. The French Maid is a tempting seductress that knows she is beautiful or she wouldn't be prancing around your house in her perfect little uniform.

The high heel shoe is a must for all French Maid costumes. There is no other shoe that can represent the sexuality and sophistication that this costume requires.
